“McDonald’s Azerbaijan” significantly reduces the use of plastic
The creative installation dedicated to the last plastic cup of McDonald’s Azerbaijan was placed in one of the McDonald’s stores located on Fountain Square. It’s a message that McDonald’s has started to significantly reduce the use of plastic packaging switching to biodegradable and certified materials.
“McDonald’s Azerbaijan” suppliers meet the requirements of international certification of key bio resources. 100% of paper and cardboard packaging is made from certified raw materials without damage to forests. This important decision will allow the company to reduce the use of plastic by about 32 tons per year and make restaurants more sustainable.
The McDonald’s company constantly tests and introduces innovative ecological solutions in restaurant processes. By 2025, the company plans to have more than 38,000 McDonald’s restaurants in 120 countries producing all food packaging and appliances from recycled materials.
